From sofa summits to strategic plans: Dedicated to the dream of equity in the early childhood system, Lindsey Allard Agnamba and a team of colleagues met frequently in her living room to brainstorm and develop the foundation that School Readiness Consulting was built from.

Equity in, equity out: While working closely with various organizations to ensure equity was at the core of our work, we committed to ongoing hiring to build a diverse team and engage in deeper professional learning centered around racial justice as a driver of change for early childhood systems.

Home is where the team grows: In 2014, we found an official office space to foster greater collaboration on projects, create a shared space for professional development, and support relationship building among the members of our growing team.

A vision with widespread potential: After a strong start, we expanded our work to create partnerships with various types of organizations in multiple communities, cities, and states across the nation.

Leaning into core values: Taking it one step further in our commitment to equity, we launched our first SRC-sponsored community engagement initiative, Equity in Early Learning (or EELI), to nurture an ecosystem of leadership around equity in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area.

Defining a more effective organizational strategy: With multiple years of growth and experience supporting a broad range of partners, we dedicated time to honing our approach to include revising our vision and mission, while also undergoing a major company reorganization process, further integrating service areas to create seamless experiences for partners.

Making necessary changes: We joined many other professional work environments by becoming a remote workspace as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. While this huge shift was made to protect the well-being of our team and our partners, it also resulted in innovative ways to connect with communities and hiring strategies that diversified the geography of our team.

A celebration 10 years in the making: From an idea, we’ve grown to a successful organization providing support to partners at all levels of the early childhood system. In 2021, we celebrated a decade of successful projects, meaningful partnerships, and intentional team development.

13 and counting: Entering our teenage years has allowed us to grow as an organization, not only in size, but capacity and expertise — expanding our reach to communities we serve.
